Careful use of resources
Ecological action is our top priority, and we hope that more organizations will take responsibility for people around the world and for nature in the future. We want to set a good example by launching sustainable projects.
Projects:
Project “Circular Lab – Atelier and Learning Place in the Kaiserhaus Bern”
In the Kaiserhaus Bern, the Association Equilibre and the KoKoTé manufactory are creating a place where resources are used mindfully and kept in circulation.
In the workshop, textiles and leather are cared for, repaired, redesigned, or further developed through upcycling. High-quality materials – from recycled fabrics to refurbished leather – thus retain their value and their history.
At the same time, Association Equilibre combines craftsmanship with social commitment: training and jobs, especially for women with a refugee background, create prospects and strengthen sustainable professional skills.
The Kaiserhaus thus demonstrates what careful use of resources means: appreciation for materials, people and craftsmanship – as a lived alternative to the throwaway society.
A place is being created where craftsmanship, education
and sustainability working together – concretely, sensually and with a focus on the future.
For those interested, here is a short version of the project description .

On small feet
In 2024, the Equilibre Association's "Uf chlinem Fuess" project promoted environmentally conscious mobility and increased physical activity among children and their families in Central Switzerland. Children collected points by completing everyday tasks such as walking to school, hiking with the family, or using public transport. A collection of creative activities such as painting and writing encouraged the children to engage with environmental issues in a playful way.
For their achieved scores, the children received sustainable Globi bags from KoKoTé , another project of the Association Equilibre. The project was supported by the Albert Koechlin Foundation and collaborated with 24 children's hiking trails in the region.Kinderwanderwege Schweiz was a cooperation partner. By January 2025, nearly 300 children had participated and completed over 1,400 hikes, significantly increasing interest in exercise and environmental awareness.
